Critical Spring Plumbing Maintenance - Products You Might Need For Your Customers

In the spring, a beautiful time of year when the weather begins to warm, flowers start to bloom, and life begins to come back... a homeowners fancy turns to... maintenance.  Not so romantic, but it's practical.  As you, the plumber or contractor, knows doing routine maintenance in the spring can help protect your home from clogs, leaks, and water damage to keep things flowing through the year. 

Here is a list of the routine maintenance and what products you will need:

Inspect pipes for leaks, damage, or anything unusual.

Check hose bibbs for leaks or damage and replace them if needed. 

Install backwater valves on all floor drains to prevent sewer backups.

Use a bacterial drain cleaner to clear debris and build-up from all the drains.  If you have a "frequent clogger," take the time to snake it and get rid of the problem.

Put mesh strainers over all drains to help prevent hair and other clogging debris from goign down the drain.

Check the water supply lines to washing machines, faucets, toilets, and other water-using appliances or fixtures.  If you see bulges, tear, or leaks, replace the lines.
